It’s a magnificent, sunny day. You’ve just finished biking a trail, completed a dusty hike, or wrapped up your work day. What comes next? A patio of course! There’s no better way to enjoy a successful day then to be rewarded with a session on one of Squamish’s finest patios, cold drink in hand and hopefully some good company to boot.
You’ll find one of the most popular patios in Brackendale, on the shores of the Squamish River. The Watershed Grill offers nature watching with a side of cold beer. Voted a top patio and favourite staff for many years running, they have an extensive menu that covers most things you could crave- fresh salads, burgers, pasta and pub fare.

Norman Rudy’s in the Garibaldi Highlands is situated on the edge of a long-closed golf course, but the views from their huge patio are a hole in one. Combining comfort food with farm fresh quality, the menu changes frequently to keep it fresh and fun. Their trivia, bingo and live music nights are always a good time with friends.

If you’re looking for a patio with a jaw dropping backdrop, the Match Eatery & Public House is the place. These guys have bragging rights for the longest stretch of sunshine in the day, and you can start cooling off by playing the slots inside at the casino, then grab a cold beverage and enjoy live music while you watch the climbers on the Stawamus Chief. Bonus: they offer a free shuttle service Thursday through Sunday.

In Downtown Squamish, check out the Copper Coil Still & Grill located in the middle of the main street action on Cleveland Avenue. Relish in the cool breeze off the Howe Sound while taking in views of the Chief. Be sure to dive into their six hour smoked ribs and brisket while enjoying an ever-rotating roster of local beers in the gorgeous afternoon light.

If craft beers are your thing then Howe Sound Brewing Company, the original Squamish brewery, is worth a visit. They’ve paired award-winning beers with a classic pub menu. With live music on weekends and special events like tap takeovers and pairing dinners there’s always something happening, and their south facing patio is a pretty sweet place to take it all in.

It’s not the easiest patio to get to, but it’s worth every penny. Ride the Sea to Sky Gondola or alternately you can earn your cold one by hiking up to the Summit Eatery and Edge Bar. Sip on a refreshing beverage, grab a sandwich or hot meal from their casual self-service restaurant while you fall in love with the most stunning vistas that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Squamish has no shortage of patios- businesses are aware of their popularity and besides, when you’re located somewhere as visually stunning as Squamish who wouldn’t want to be seated at a table in the sunshine, drinking in the views as well as a refreshing beverage.
